The Eulogy of True Worship

(mirrored after Macbeth - Act 5, Scene5)

It should have never been replaced;
For in this time we have need for such praise.
Sunday, after Sunday, after Sunday
Maintaining the status quo - undelivered, downtrodden, bound
Through the benediction and dismissal; to be repeated next week.
And all our religious traditions have given way
To emotionally-charged, hollow praise. Louder, Louder, the sound system!
Modern Worship is but sounding brass and clanging cymbals, entertainment
That causes men and women to dance, shout, and wail about the sanctuary,
And does nothing more; they are but songs - loud and extravagant,
Sung by frustrated images, held in the hollow chains of man's approval,
Changing nothing.
